London like a "Local" | Photo Blog

Patiently waiting for Hugh Grant in Notting Hill
There is nothing better than seeing someone you know from home overseas. It's such an exciting yet surreal feeling, catching up with a familiar face in a completely different part of the world. It's just plain awesome. Although I was only going to London for the weekend, I was as excited as I would be if I was doing a weekend trip to an exotic country outside of the UK! I packed my gear for the weekend into my average sized handbag and jumped onto a train to London's Euston Station before taking the tube to Angel. Yes you read right, my handbag. The Strokes @ Hyde Park London

The Strokes @ Hyde Park London
The Strokes are number one on my concert bucket list. I never thought that I would get to see them live. I had accepted that and moved on. I saw them perform in London's Hyde Park three nights ago. My First Trip to London: Day 2

Waking up at 9am to check out of our hostel felt like hell. The hostel bed was heaven compared to the crappy mattress I have in my Warwick dorm room so I was not happy to part with it. We stayed at SafeStay Elephant & Castle, taking up two whole 8 person dorm rooms and we were pleasantly surprised with how nice the place was! Despite the rooms being extremely purple, the hostel was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. I would definitely go back and stay there next time.

My First Trip to London: Day 1

After spending two weeks in my new home at Warwick, I decided that it was finally time to venture out of Coventry. I, along with a bunch of other exchange students, took the 7.15am Megabus from Coventry to London on the 17th of January. Waking up for that was definitely not an easy feat after getting home from a night out at 4am the night before... The Megabus was fantastic! It only cost £9 for a round trip and took 2 hours.
